ESS Bilbao together with the University of the Basque Country and within the Edition XVIII of the Week of Science Technology and Innovation has organized an external visit to the scientific and technological facilities that the Consortium has in the Zamudio Technology Park
The Council of the European Spallation Source has ratified the accession of Spain as a founding member with full rights in the consortium participated by 15 members and observer’s European countries, committed in the construction of the most important scientific-technological infrastructure that Europe will have in the next decade.
The granting of a credit of 18M€ and the registration of an annex for the modification of the statutes of ESS Bilbao by the Spanish Government may allow Spain to become a member of the ESS-ERIC Consortium

The European Spallation Source Council reaffirms the importance of Spain as a partner country and supports its imminent entry in the ERIC Bilbao event, from 5th to 6th December 2016. The European Spallation Source ERIC Council, in a meeting held in Bilbao, has reiterated the importance for the European project of the entry of Spain as a founding member of the European Research Infrastructure Consortium -ERIC- of ESS.

The First workshop on ‘Engineering aspects of large-scale In-Kind projects’
The initial elements of the shielding for the beam dump, in particular 200 concrete blocks, have been delivered by ESS Bilbao to the European Spallation Source as the first Spanish in-kind delivery to the European research infrastructure project in November 2016.
