The signature of this legal framework establishes and recognises all the key ESS Bilbao In-Kind contributions to ESS and enables the continuity of our future collaborations at all levels. This agreement represents a major milestone for ESS Bilbao consolidating our future as a center of excellence in particle accelerator and neutron scattering science and technologies.

The process which began in 2019 has been successfully concluded after complex negotiations of the crucial technical annexes, gathered in the In-Kind agreement. The In-Kind model assumed by ESS Bilbao as one of the partners of ESS, detailed for each project, the scope broken down into work packages with a short technical description and cost value, that’s enabled ESS Bilbao to justify its investments along the years. The Technical Annexes covers the full scope required to complete the agreed In-Kind contributions from ESS Bilbao to ESS.

The excellent level of coordination and collaboration between ESS Bilbao and ESS has been crucial to keep the agreed schedule, the technical performance and both economic and legal aspects.

Mario Pérez, ESS Bilbao Executive Director emphasises the hard work and internal effort to achieve this successful conclusion. “We are thrilled to see the In-Kind Contribution Agreement signed and we look forward to continue working closely together with ESS fostering our partnership”.
